Uğur Dalbeler has become the new chairman of the Steel Exporters’ Association

Following the elections held at the Ordinary General Assembly of the Steel Exporters’ Association (ÇİB), Uğur Dalbeler took over the position of Chairman of the Board from Adnan Aslan, who had served as chairman for two terms.

Speaking at the general assembly, Adnan Aslan stated that they had made significant progress together with the sector during his term, emphasizing that despite a challenging global environment, the Turkish steel industry maintained its strong position thanks to its production capacity and adaptability. Aslan underlined that the Turkish steel sector would continue to be one of the locomotive sectors of the Turkish economy with its wide product range, experience in international markets, and strong production infrastructure.

Aslan also noted that important steps had been taken in areas such as market diversification and sustainable production during his tenure, expressing his belief that the accumulated experience would be carried even further by the new management.

Uğur Dalbeler, who took over the position, stated that he was honored to be elected as chairman with the support of ÇİB members and thanked them for their trust. Dalbeler emphasized that the work carried out by former chairman Adnan Aslan had created a strong foundation for the sector and expressed his gratitude for his contributions.

Sharing his goals for the new term, Dalbeler drew attention to the transformation in global trade and stated that increasing the competitiveness of the Turkish steel sector is a priority. He noted that increasing value-added production, strengthening access to new markets, and supporting sustainability-focused transformation are among the key priorities. He also emphasized that green transformation, digitalization, and efficiency are the most important factors shaping the future of the sector.
