Abu Dhabi-based Metal Park has announced that it is preparing to host a new technology hub to accelerate digital transformation in industry. The Industry 4.0 Competence Center, to be established in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) and Metal Park Investment ME Ltd, is specifically designed for the metal manufacturing sector. The center will be located in the KEZAD industrial zone on a five-million-square-meter site and is expected to be operational by the last quarter of 2025.
Unveiled at the Make it in the Emirates Forum 2025, this high-tech center will provide capabilities for developing, testing, and scaling technologies in robotics, AI-powered production, digital twins, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), and predictive maintenance. It will also offer training and capacity-building programs to prepare the workforce for the digital future. The project aligns with the Abu Dhabi Industrial Strategy (ADIS), which aims to double the manufacturing sector’s economic contribution by 2031.
Fives Group and Metal Park partnership supports the UAE’s localization and industrial growth goals.
Alongside the Industry 4.0 initiative, Metal Park has also entered into a significant partnership with French-based international engineering company Fives Group. According to the official announcement, the parties signed a lease agreement for 2,000 square meters of workshop space at the Metal Park facility in KEZAD. Operating under the name “Fives Industrial Technologies,” the new facility is scheduled to begin production, maintenance, and repair activities in the second half of 2025.
The facility will serve the UAE’s strategic sectors, including aluminum, oil and gas, aerospace, cement, glass, and steel. This step is said to align with both Fives Group’s expansion plans in the Middle East and the UAE’s “Make it in the Emirates” strategy to promote industrial localization.
These two strategic initiatives with ADIO and Fives Group position Metal Park as a critical launchpad in Abu Dhabi’s transformation from a regional hub to a global leader in advanced industrial technologies and digital manufacturing.
