Türkiye’s scrap imports fell by 7.7% in July

Türkiye’s scrap imports in July 2025 decreased by 7.7% year-on-year, while increasing by 22.6% month-on-month.

According to data compiled by SteelRadar from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), Türkiye’s scrap imports in July fell by 7.7% compared to the same month of the previous year, decreasing from 1,594,219 tons to 1,471,381 tons.

Compared to the previous month, June, scrap imports increased by 22.6%.

In the January–July period, total scrap imports dropped by 6.3%, declining from 11,553,190 tons to 10,830,305 tons. The most notable change in scrap imports was the 18.8% decrease in imports from the United States, one of Türkiye’s main scrap suppliers.

In July, the country with the highest scrap exports to Türkiye was the United Kingdom, with 333,636 tons, followed by the United States with 279,415 tons, and the Netherlands with 243,064 tons.
