Türkiye's passenger car exports reached $5.98 billion in the first half of the year

Türkiye's passenger car exports totaled $5.984 billion in the January–June period of 2026, marking a 5% year-on-year decline compared with the same period last year.

Passenger cars were exported to 82 countries, autonomous regions, and free zones during the first half of the year, with France, Spain, and Italy remaining Türkiye's largest export markets.

According to data from the Uludağ Automotive Industry Exporters' Association (OIB), Türkiye's automotive industry generated $20.84 billion in exports during the January–June period. Passenger cars accounted for 28.7% of the sector's total exports.

Passenger car exports declined by 5% year on year to $5.984 billion in the first six months of 2026, compared with $6.318 billion in the same period last year.

France retained its position as the leading destination, with exports rising 4.4% year on year to $1.135 billion. Exports to Spain increased 11% to $871.3 million, while shipments to Italy remained stable at $703 million.

Exports to Slovenia also recorded strong growth, climbing 9.7% year on year to $507.1 million.

Among the remaining top markets, exports reached $475.7 million to Germany and $407.9 million to the United Kingdom. Poland ranked seventh with $362.2 million, followed by Belgium ($224.7 million), Greece ($132.9 million), and Morocco ($114.7 million).

Eight of Türkiye's top ten passenger car export destinations during the first half of the year were European Union member states.
