According to data compiled by SteelRadar from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), Türkiye’s iron ore imports in February 2026 increased by 180.8% compared to the same month of the previous year,increasig from 343,937 tons to 965,873 tons.
Total imports in the January–February period also showed a significant increase of 65.7% year-on-year, reaching 1,893,505 tons compared to 1,142,547 tons in the same period last year.
During this period, Türkiye imported the highest volume of iron ore from Brazil with 725,620 tons. Brazil was followed by Norway with 164,264 tons and the Russian Federation with 74,957 tons. Georgia and Iraq were also included in the list with 765 tons and 224 tons, respectively.
