According to data compiled by SteelRadar analysts from preliminary foreign trade figures of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) and the Undersecretariat of Customs, Türkiye’s iron and steel import value in March increased by 14.1% year-on-year to $1,920.24 million.
In the same month, iron and steel ranked sixth among the country’s highest-value import categories.
In the January–March period of this year, the import value reached $5.38 billion, marking a 4.6% year-on-year increase compared to the same period last year.
In the same month, imports of articles of iron or steel ranked fifteenth among the country’s highest-value import categories. The import value of articles of iron or steel in March increased by 1.6% year-on-year to $388.15 million, while in the first three months of the year, it rose by 9.1% compared to the same period last year, reaching $1.12 billion.
