Türkiye's Industrial production increased by 1.2% y/y in January

Industrial production decreased by 2.3% on a monthly basis in January, while it increased by 1.2% on an annual basis.

Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) announced the industrial production data for January 2025. According to the data, industrial production decreased by 2.3% on a monthly basis in January, while it increased by 1.2% on an annual basis. In December last year, industrial production recorded the strongest increase in 21 months on a monthly basis and 10 months on an annual basis.

Analyzing the sub-sectors of industry, mining and quarrying sector index decreased by 0.7% in January 2025 compared to the same period of the previous year. While the manufacturing industry index increased by 1.2%, the index for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning production and distribution sector increased by 5%.

On a monthly basis, mining and quarrying sector index increased by 7.5% in January compared to the previous month. However, the index for the manufacturing industry sector decreased by 3%, while the index for the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning production and distribution sector fell by 0.8%.

These data reveal the current situation in Türkiye's industrial production and sectoral developments.
