According to data compiled by SteelRadar analysts from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), Türkiye's hot-rolled coil (HRC) imports in June 2024 decreased by 36.4% y/y to 273,359 tons from 429,681 tons in the same month of the previous year. This figure also represents a 3.5% m/m decrease compared to May.
Total HRC imports for the January-June period decreased by 15.2% y/y to 2,035,410 tons from 2,401,162 tons in the same period of the previous year.
China was the leading source of Türkiye's HRC imports, accounting for 112,413.8 tons, followed by Egypt with 56,969.8 tons, Taiwan with 38,179.5 tons, South Korea with 27,586.3 tons, and Russia with 17,010.1 tons.
