According to data compiled by SteelRadar from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), Türkiye's billet and bloom imports increased from 268,656 tons in April of the previous year to 402,178 tons in April 2026, marking a significant year-on-year rise. On a monthly basis, however, imports declined by 27.4% from 553,852 tons recorded in March.

During the January-April 2026 period, total billet and bloom imports rose by 51.0% year-on-year, reaching 1,673,640 tons compared to 1,108,274 tons in the same period of the previous year. This indicates that the strong upward trend in import volumes continued throughout the first four months of the year.

An analysis of imports by country for April shows that China ranked first with 126,663 tons. The Russian Federation followed with 86,107 tons, while Malaysia placed third with shipments totaling 84,392 tons. Imports from Oman amounted to 48,489 tons, while imports from Ukraine stood at 14,287 tons.

Looking at the January-April period as a whole, the ranking changes. The Russian Federation became the largest supplier with 474,046 tons, followed by China with 378,334 tons. Malaysia ranked third with 190,615 tons of imports, while Oman and Ukraine were also among the key suppliers, contributing 90,680 tons and 67,622 tons, respectively.
