Türkiye stands out with full capacity utilization in EU quotas

In the quota period from January 1 to March 31, 2025, Türkiye used all of its quotas for organic coated sheets, wire rod, large welded tubes and rebar, and almost all of its quota for hollow sections.

According to data obtained by SteelRadar from the European Commission, Türkiye stood out with its quota utilization rates this week, utilizing four EU quotas at full capacity. Türkiye almost fully utilized one product group. Türkiye fully utilized 15,543 tons of organic coated sheets, 116,423 tons of wire rod, 14,767 tons of large welded tubes and 93,361 tons of rebar, while the 99.7% utilization rate of 97,299 tons of hollow sections stood out. Utilization rates for other products were as follows: 

94% of 21,057 tons of stainless HR quarto plate quota, 81.6% of 37,660 tons of other welded pipes quota, 59.2% of 50,816 tons of non-alloy steel wire quota, 50% of 464,843 tons of HRC quota, 39% of 1,539 tons of railway material quota, 38.9% of 104,811 tons of merchant bars and light sections quota. 

Apart from Türkiye, other countries that used their products at full capacity were South Korea with 93,351 tons of CRC quota, 70,747 tons of organic coated sheets quota and 184,309 tons of HRC quota, India with 53,046 tons of 4A metallic coated sheets, 77,727 tons of organic coated sheets and 5,815 tons of seamless stainless tubes and pipes quota, China with 126,811 tons of 4B metallic coated sheets quota and 4,969 tons of stainless HR quarto plates quota.
