Türkiye exported flat steel the most in the first half of the year

Türkiye exported a total of 9.75 million tons of steel products in the first six months of 2025. The most exported products were hot flat steel products with an increase of 45.9% y/y.

According to the information compiled by SteelRadar from the Steel Exporters' Association (ÇİB) data; Türkiye's iron and steel exports increased by 13.6% in the first six months of 2025, increasing from 8.54 million tons to 9.75 million tons. During this period, the most exported product was flat hot products. Flat hot rolled steel exports increased by 43.9% compared to the first half of last year, from 1.42 million tons to 2.05 million tons.

Construction steel ranked second on the list. Exports of this product group increased by 21.9% in the same period, increasing from 1.62 million tons to 1.97 million tons.

Exports of welded pipes, which ranked third, decreased by 4.7% from 1.03 million tons to 989 thousand tons.

Section products ranked fourth in terms of export growth. Exports of this item increased by 11.1% from 851 thousand tons to 947 thousand tons.

Flat coated steel products, which ranked fifth, decreased by 4.9% from 785 thousand tons to 746 thousand tons.

Another noteworthy development was the exports of non-alloy billet steel. Exports of this product group increased by a record 403.5% to 262 thousand tons. The share of non-alloy billet in total exports increased to 2.7%.

During the same period, the countries to which Türkiye sent the most products in steel exports were also announced. Exports to Romania, which topped the list, totaled 1.05 million tons, while exports to this country increased by 19.8% compared to the previous year. Exports to Italy increased by 16.5% to 776 thousand tons, while exports to Spain increased by 56.2% to 510 thousand tons.
