Finnish Huhtamaki officially took over Elif Holding for 412 million euros.

Turkish packaging company officially sold

Huhtamaki, one of the most important packaging companies in the world, entered Turkey quickly. In the news announced by WORLD for the first time on August 16, we shared with you that Finnish packaging giant Huhtamaki will buy Turkish company Elif Holding for 412 million euros. Those sales negotiations ended, the Competition Authority gave its approval. The Finnish giant assumed sole control of the Turkish firm.

It has a turnover of 3.3 billion euros

Huhtamaki, which has 82 production centers in 36 countries, is one of the world's leading sustainable packaging companies with its 18,200 employees. Huhtamaki's turnover in 2020 amounted to 3.3 billion euros. Being among Turkey's largest flexible packaging manufacturers and export companies, Elif has two state-of-the-art production facilities in Turkey and Egypt. Offering flexible packaging solutions to more than 200 production facilities, mostly international giant companies, in more than 50 countries, Elif is one of the most important companies in the region.
