Turkish Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç visited Kardemir Facility

Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç visited Karabük Iron and Steel Works (KARDEMİR). According to a statement released by the company, Tunç was welcomed at KARDEMİR’s General Directorate by Chairman of the Board Muhammed Ali Oflaz, board members, the general manager and deputy general managers, Özçelik-İş Trade Union Karabük Branch Chairman Kenan Yılmaz, and company employees.As part of the visit, Minister Tunç signed KARDEMİR’s honorary guest book.

Following this, Minister Tunç and his delegation proceeded to the meeting room, where he received information from Chairman of the Board Muhammed Ali Oflaz about the company’s current operations, investments, and goals. Minister Tunç emphasized that KARDEMİR, known as the “factory that builds factories,” is a significant asset not only for the economy of Karabük and its region but also for Turkey as a whole, conveying his congratulations to the company’s management and employees for their achievements.

Speaking at the meeting, Muhammed Ali Oflaz stated that 2026 has been declared the “Year of Productivity” at KARDEMİR. He noted that production, currently around 2.5 million tons, is targeted to reach 3 million tons through investments aimed at increasing efficiency. Oflaz also highlighted that as the only producer of railway rails and wheels in Turkey, KARDEMİR continues to actively expand its exports abroad. He emphasized that KARDEMİR is one of the facilities producing for the country and that its operations are consciously carried out with the goal of sustainable success.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Chairman Oflaz presented Minister Tunç with a replica of the “first Turkish iron,” considered a symbol of both the company and the city of Karabük.

Continuing his visit, Minister Tunç and his delegation conducted technical inspections at KARDEMİR’s production facilities. The delegation toured the Çubuk Kangal Rolling Mill, Railway Wheel Factory, Foundries, and Blast Furnaces. After a dinner with the employees, they departed from the factory.

The visit was attended by Karabük Governor Mustafa Yavuz, AK Party Karabük Deputy Cem Şahin, AK Party Bartın Deputy Yusuf Ziya Aldatmaz, Deputy Ministers of Justice, Turan Kuloğlu, Head of the 1st Division of the Council of Judges and Prosecutors, Karabük Chief Public Prosecutor Selçuk Akman, Karabük Justice Commission Chair Aynur Çelik, and AK Party Provincial Chair Ferhat Salt.
