According to data compiled by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), May had the highest figure for Turkey's flat steel imports in the January-July period, while it was also the month with the highest increase compared to the same month last year. In May, Turkey's flat steel imports increased by 53% compared to the previous month, reaching the highest import figure of the year.
It reached 1 million 157 thousand tons, increasing by 44% compared to the same month of the previous year, the highest increase of the year.
In February, although it showed the highest decline of the year compared to the same month of the previous year, it was the lowest figure of the January-July period in January.
