After the increasing chip demand of manufacturers for smartphones and 5G network equipment, manufacturing and supply problems continue at the global level.
According to the statement made by Toyota, the company will temporarily stop 27 production lines in 14 plants in the country due to the chip supply problem.
The Japanese company reported that this practice will result in a 40 percent decrease in the previously announced monthly production rates.
It was noted that the 3-week suspension will affect Yaris compact, Prius hybrid and RAV4 models.
On the other hand, the company reported that its production facilities in South Asian countries, including Thailand and Vietnam, had a shortage of spare parts due to the new type of coronavirus (Kovid-19) epidemic.
