Tosyalı Demir Çelik Sarıseki Plant realized its first export

Tosyalı Holding, Türkiye's global steel producer, continues to work for sustainable living with its nearly 40 facilities on 3 continents, approximately 15 thousand employees and high value-added facility investments.

Tosyalı, one of the leading groups in the world with its sustainability-oriented investments, is gradually launching the Tosyalı Demir Çelik Sarıseki Plant, which will produce qualified and green steel in İskenderun 2nd Organized Industrial Zone.

Tosyalı Demir Çelik Sarıseki Plant, one of Türkiye's largest industrial investments, which started production in the first of two Quantum furnaces a while ago, realized its first export to Algeria.

These exported products will be used within the scope of the Ain Kecha dam irrigation and AVAL seawater treatment projects of Algeria's number one contracting company Cosider Canalisation Spa with a total of 80,000 tons.

In this context, 249 coil steel shipments totaling 7,770 tons, 16.00 mm thick-1500 mm wide, were delivered to Tosyalı Algerie's spiral plant. These products in the green steel category are of TOS5250, i.e. S355JR material quality and draw attention as the first production realized in the Quantum Furnace of Tosyalı Demir Çelik Sarıseki Plant.

The $2.5 billion Tosyalı Demir Çelik Sarıseki Plant investment is a facility that will put Tosyalı Holding ahead in global competition with its Industry 4.0 compatibility, using the most advanced technologies. With this facility, Tosyalı became the first user of Quantum Furnace technology in Turkey, which provides lower electrical energy consumption. Focusing on green steel production, the plant will have a 70% lower carbon footprint compared to blast furnaces and 20% lower than traditional arc furnaces thanks to its sustainability-oriented investments involving advanced technology. The Sarıseki Plant, which will eliminate Türkiye's 4 million tons of flat steel imports, will also contribute to the national economy with value-added steel exports.
