thyssenkrupp became the world’s 47th largest steel producer in 2025

In the list of the world’s largest steel producers for 2025 published by the World Steel Association, the production performance and global ranking of Germany-based steel producer thyssenkrupp have been clarified.

thyssenkrupp became the world’s 47th largest steel producer in 2025

In the official list published, the annual crude steel production volumes of globally operating producer companies and their corresponding positions in the world rankings were disclosed.

According to the data, thyssenkrupp recorded a decline in its global ranking in 2025 due to its crude steel production performance. The company, which ranked 43rd worldwide in the previous year, dropped to 47th place in 2025.

The data shows that thyssenkrupp’s crude steel production, which stood at 10.26 million tons in 2024, fell by 8.3% in 2025 to 9.41 million tons. As a result, the company lost four positions in the global steel producers’ ranking.

The list published by the World Steel Association also highlights the challenging market conditions faced by the European steel sector. Factors such as high energy costs, weak industrial demand, and global overcapacity continue to affect the performance of Europe-based producers.

The 2025 data indicates that the decline in thyssenkrupp’s production volume directly impacted its global ranking, while the company maintained its position among Germany’s leading steel producers.

The 2025 ranking published by the World Steel Association once again demonstrates the impact of changes in global steel production on companies’ competitiveness and positions in the industry.
