The world's top steel producing companies have been announced! Here are the Turkish companies on the list

The World Steel Association published the list of global companies producing more than 3 million tons of crude steel in 2024. Five Turkish companies from the previous period's data were included in the list again.

Chinese steel producer Baowu Group ranked first in the list this year, as it has been every year. The company produced 130.09 million tons in 2024.

Arcelormittal, headquartered in Luxembourg, ranked second on the list. Although the company ranked second in 2023, it reduced production in 2023 from 68.52 million tons to 65 million tons. In third place was China's Ansteel Group, which increased its production and produced 59.55 million tons in 2024. This figure was 55.89 million tons in 2023. Japan-based Nippon Steel Corporation ranked fourth. undefinedachieved approximately the same production figure compared to the previous year, producing 43.64 million tons in 2024. It was followed by China-based HBIS Group, which ranked fifth. HBIS Group produced 42.28 million tons in 2024.

Tosyalı climbed up 21 places

As every year, 5 Turkish companies were among the top 100 companies in the list. Among them, Tosyalı Holding, which ranked 46th, took the first place in the list. Tosyalı Holding moved up 21 places from 67th place in 2023 to 46th place. Producing 5.91 million tons in 2023, Tosyalı reached a production figure of 9.12 million tons in 2024.

Tosyalı was followed by Erdemir, which ranked 50th. Erdemir climbed up 5 places from 55th place in 2023 to 50th place. Producing 7.18 million tons in 2023, the company reached a production figure of 8.54 million tons in 2024.

Erdemir was followed by Habaş, which entered the list in 86th place. Although Habaş reduced its production figure from 3.92 million tons in 2023 to 3.80 million tons, it moved up from 92nd to 86th place in 2024. Çolakoğlu Metalurji entered the list in 94th place. The company produced 3.43 million tons in 2024. This figure was 2.55 million tons in 2023 and ranked 122nd on the list. İçdaş, on the other hand, moved up from 121st to 101st place with a production figure of 3.10 million tons. In 2023, it produced 2.88 million tons.
