According to the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) the USA steel production for the week ending July 9, 2022 was 1,748,000 tons with 79.3 percent capacity utilization. In the corresponding week of last year, US steel production was 1,862,000 tons with a capacity utilization rate of 84.4 percent.
Thus, the current production figures decreased by 6.1% compared to the previous year and decreased by 1.1% (1,767,000 tons, 80.9%) compared to the previous week.
