The increase in flat rolled prices in the US domestic market has also increased export offers at Brazilian ports, which have already added $20-25 logistics costs in the last two weeks.
Offers for slabs sent from Brazilian ports to the US have been recorded at least in the range of 675-680 USD/MT FOB as of the end of last week. April shipments have already been announced at a minimum of 700-710 USD/MT FOB.
Experts predict that the steady rise in slab prices will continue, given the increasing indicators for HRC in the US East Coast and the significant increase in demand for semi-finished products in Europe. It is anticipated that at the beginning of the second quarter, offers will reach 750 USD/MT FOB from Brazilian ports.
