The export agenda of the casting industry was discussed at İDDMİB meeting

The meeting was attended by representatives from the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Trade and the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Industry and Technology, as well as the İDDMİB Board of Directors and Secretariat General, the TÜDÖKSAD Board of Directors and Secretariat General, sector companies, and representatives of stakeholder institutions.

Opening remarks were delivered by İDDMİB Vice Chairman of the Board Sevgür Arslanpay, İDDMİB Board Member Aynur Ayhan, and TÜDÖKSAD Chairman of the Board Kadir Efe. The speeches included evaluations of the casting industry’s export performance, global competitive conditions, and the sector’s ongoing transformation process.

Within the scope of the program, the sector’s current export structure and the challenges it faces were discussed in a multi-dimensional manner, alongside global industrial trends, investment dynamics, strategic planning issues, structural transformation, and competitive pressures. In addition, the organization of the 76th World Foundry Congress (WFC 2026), to be hosted by TÜDÖKSAD, was among the key agenda items of the meeting.

In the presentation titled “Assessment of the Casting Industry” delivered by TÜDÖKSAD, the sector’s main problem areas, structural pressures on exports, cost factors, the need for transformation, and competitiveness issues were comprehensively shared.

In the final session of the meeting, current statistics on the import of casting products under the Inward Processing Regime (IPR) were reviewed, and the impacts of import pressure on the sector as well as its implications for competitive balance were discussed. In this context, potential policy and regulatory needs that could be pursued in cooperation with public authorities were also deliberated.

The meeting was regarded as an important consultation platform for strengthening cooperation among public institutions, the industry, and associations, clarifying common problem areas, and developing solution-oriented policies.
