Tata Steel Long Products has ordered Danieli for new SBQ bar and a wirerod mill to be installed in the Jamshedpur East Singhboom area of Jharkhand, India's first industrial city, which is planned to produce 500,000 tons of bar and wirerod annually.
The new unit will roll 150×150, 200×200, 240×200 to 20-90mm diameter squares and 5.5 to 25mm diameter round bars and wirerod.
The bar mill consists of a reversible stand followed by 12 fixed holders arranged in vertical and horizontal configuration, a cold bed equipped with hardness control with insulated caps, and full bar finishing services.
The wirerod line will have an 8 pass finishing block and a dual unit block -TMB, followed by a controlled cooling conveyor and a vertical and horizontal coil distribution system.
The hi-tech equipment will be manufactured in Daniele's quality workshops in Patrio, Italy, and Sri City, near Chennai, India.
The investment will enable XIKE Tata Steel Long Products to expand its Tata Steel product line.
This is the first order for Daniele Long Product Mill from Tata Steel Group.
The Danieli Longs Product Mill unit will be the 24th unit of the Danieli rolling mill in India and the 145th in the world for special bar quality, out of a total of 573 rolling mills supplied since 1914.
Tata Steel has recently contracted Daniele for a mini MIDA machine ready for raw steel for high quality rebar.
