The Q235 billet price in Tangshan was at 3,440 yuan/ton ($493.4/t) including EXW and 13% VAT on 14 May, down 40 yuan/t from 8 May.
From May 4-10, daily billet consumption at 55 rolling mills in Tangshan decreased by 7,000 tonnes/day or 14.4% to average 41,600 tonnes/day, while total billet stocks held by these 55 rolling mills increased by 33,000 tonnes or 10.2% as of May 10.
On 12 May, the average loss of 10 integrated plants in Tangshan was assessed at 94 Yuan/t. Meanwhile, the average cost to produce these semi-finished products decreased by 110/t w-o-w to 3,494/t from 4-10 May.
