According to customs data, Taiwan imported approximately 83,300 tons of pig iron in August 2023, recording a 5% decrease compared to the previous month.
Among these, imports from Russia ranked first with 75,000 tons, while China ranked second with 5,800 tons and Germany ranked third with 1,000 tons.
Although Taiwanese steel mills' demand for pig iron supply is high, offers have not been realized in large numbers. Russia has recently shifted its pig iron sales to India and has not made an offer to Taiwan.
