China Steel Corporation (CSC), Taiwan's largest carbon steel producer, was scheduled to announce its new prices for April and the second quarter next week. Due to weak local demand, downstream buyers expected that CSC could maintain prices or slightly increase prices.
However, raw material costs are still at a high level and have even reached new highs, coupled with constantly increasing prices in Europe and America, so CSC is also expected to raise its prices.
Market participants expect CSC prices to increase by NT$600-800/ton for April and up to NT$1,200-2,000/ton for the second quarter.
