Taiwan aims to impose taxes on companies with more than 25 thousand tons of carbon emissions by 2050. Although the tax rate is not yet clear, it is estimated to be less than NT100/t (£4.95).
The Taiwanese government wants to achieve zero carbon emissions by the end of 2024.
The project is expected to be published by the end of this year, with the completion of the firm negotiations. Taiwan will also set carbon tariffs for energy-efficient products to be imported.
