Tahweel Metal signed a contract with SMS group for an integrated aluminum foil complex in Dammam

Saudi Arabia-based Tahweel Metal Industries Company (TMIC) has signed a contract with SMS group for the engineering, manufacturing, and delivery of a six-unit aluminum cold rolling mill as part of a new integrated aluminum foil rolling complex to be built in Dammam.

Tahweel Metal signed a contract with SMS group for an integrated aluminum foil complex in Dammam
The facility in question will be centrally located within an integrated complex to be established in the Dammam Third Industrial City (Modon-III) in the Persian Gulf. TMIC's parent company, Tahweel Holding, operates in the field of material solutions across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, and the company aims to continue its investments in the aluminum foil rolling and flexible packaging sectors.
The six-high cold rolling mill to be supplied by SMS group has been designed to process aluminum strips with widths up to 2,200 millimeters and thicknesses up to 8 millimeters, reducing them to a final thickness of as little as 0.15 millimeters. The majority of the produced strips are planned to be used as foil in various industrial applications, primarily for food and pharmaceutical packaging.
The facility is stated to be equipped with technical features that will ensure high-precision thickness control, flexible rolling capacity, energy-efficient processes, advanced automation systems, and long-term production reliability. The project is described as aiming to deliver sustainable and future-oriented production solutions.
The official announcement of the order was held in Riyadh, with the participation of senior government officials and company representatives. The investment is noted to align with the objectives of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 framework, including economic diversification, localization of production, and sustainable resource utilization. SMS group is reported to be participating in the project as a technology partner.
