South Africa-based SteelXperts announced its significant contribution to one of the country’s largest renewable energy investments — the Redstone Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) project. Launched in 2021 and led by ACWA Power, the project saw SteelXperts fabricate over 9,000 tons of steel for the heliostats surrounding the tower. As of March 2025, the plant has reached its final testing phase.
SteelXperts CEO Mayleen Kyster Nduli described the project as a milestone for the company, stating, “Being part of a structure of such national importance was both challenging and an honor.”
The Redstone CSP plant is set to generate around 480 GWh of clean energy annually, powering over 200,000 households. It will also offset approximately 440 metric tons of carbon emissions per year, marking a first in South Africa and aligning with the Paris Climate Agreement's goals for environmental sustainability.
With the expertise gained from this project, SteelXperts reaffirmed its commitment to delivering high-quality solutions in steel and pipe fabrication, structural design and engineering, installation, and maintenance.
