SteelRadar conference a leap forward for Iran’s steel chain exports

As SteelRadar, prior to our first international conference to be held on May 15-16 in İzmir, Türkiye, Senior Analyst of the International Steel and Iron Ore Market, Dr.Keyvan Jaferi Tehrani, shared important evaluations about our event in an interview with our media partner Mining News Agency. Dr. Keyvan emphasized that this event presents a unique opportunity to develop Iran's steel export chain and highlighted that it will bring together numerous international speakers and industry representatives.

SteelRadar conference a leap forward for Iran’s steel chain exports

Dr. Keyvan Jafari Tehrani stated that although this is the first international SteelRadar event, 36 international speakers from different countries have already confirmed their participation. Additionally, prominent names from Iran such as Dr. Bahram Sobhani, President of the Steel Association, and experienced industry executive Eng. Amir Aligholizadeh will also attend the event.

Dr. Keyvan attributed the strong resonance of the event to the current atmosphere of Iran-U.S. negotiations, stating: "After the official announcement of my participation as a speaker, many European and even American companies operating in the Middle East and North Africa expressed their readiness to attend the conference."

Dr. Keyvan noted that 19 countries from the MENA region, including the Persian Gulf, North Africa, Türkiye, and Armenia, will be represented, emphasizing that the chosen venue is highly appropriate. He added that the broad participation from Africa especially confirms this.

He also drew attention to the importance of developing Iran’s steel export chain, stating: "At this conference, I will represent several Iranian steel and mining companies and engage in significant negotiations with Turkish, Indian, and other Middle Eastern representatives."

Dr. Keyvan stated that one of the main topics of the negotiations will be pellet exports to India, and emphasized that the development of the Turkish market is also a priority.

Pointing out that Türkiye has recently imposed 20-25% customs duties on Iranian billet imports or has halted slab purchases, Dr.Keyvan said: "However, Türkiye still remains a large market with high capacity, and since Iran’s population is larger than Türkiye’s, there are significant export opportunities ahead."

Finally, he noted that more than 324 people have already registered to attend the SteelRadar Conference and that this number is expected to exceed 400. He invited foreign companies and buyers to seize this golden opportunity to engage with Iran’s mining and mineral industries.

Our official media partner Mining News Agency will be responsible for informing, coordinating, and handling the registration process for relevant Iranian parties.

We extend our sincere thanks to Senior Analyst Dr. Keyvan Jaferi Tehrani for his valuable insights and support regarding our event. We also thank our media partner Madan News for their contributions and collaboration and express our gratitude.
