Steel production in Hebei planned to be reduced

Hebei Province, which produces the most steel in China, experienced the pride of realizing a production of approximately 249 million tons last year. But this year, under the stress of carbon emission control as well as atmosphere environmental protection, Hebei became the only province to realize a decrease in steel production in the first half of 2021.

From March this year, Tangshan city, as China's most famous steel supplier, began to control and cut the production of local steel enterprises.

Hebei planned to reduce its total crude steel production of 21.71 million tons in 2021 by 8.8% compared to 2020. For this reason, Hebei Province plans to slow down production in the ongoing process of 2021.
