The country's high electricity costs meant that German blast furnaces were not idle. ArcelorMittal Bremen had suspended rebar production in one of its blast furnaces and the normal operation of the furnace could not be resumed. The ArcelorMittal Group has decided to increase production at ArcelorMittal Bremen and return it to normal operation.
Another of the units that was discontinued was located in Hamburg. After planning to re-start production of the Bremen blast furnace, the company decided to start production again at its Hamburg plant.
