Steel industry stagnates in China

According to the estimates of the Steel Logistics Professional Committee (CSLPC), the Chinese steel market is slowing down.

According to the estimates of the Steel Logistics Professional Committee (CSLPC), the PMI value of the Chinese steel market increased by approximately 0.5% points in the September 2023 period.

CSLPC also announced that its new orders subindex rose 1.5 percentage points. This level was significantly lower than the August 2023 period. In addition, in September 2023, the production volumes sub-index decreased for the second time in a row and fell to 45.0 points. This situation led to the thought that production in the Chinese steel market would decrease.

Authorities predict a slight improvement in demand for steel products in October 2023.

According to the data announced by the National Bureau of Statistics of the People's Republic of China, the value of the PMI index of the Chinese industry increased by 0.5 at the end of September 2023.
