Steel consumption in the Russian domestic market is on the rise

Russian metallurgists note a sharp increase (by 10-12%) in steel consumption in the domestic market in the first half of the year, mainly due to construction.

At the same time, growth is expected to slow in the second half of the year. Demand for steel will increase by 2% by the end of the year.

Demand for steel in Russia in 2023 may grow by 3-5% compared to last year. Thus, in the first half of the year, the growth in demand for metal products amounted to 10-12% due to the construction sector, where consumption increased by 14-16%.
