The new service center aims to respond to the needs of the sector by providing ready-to-assemble components to manufacturers of transport, construction, and lifting equipment. While Hardox® wear plate is used to increase load-carrying capacity and extend equipment life in demanding applications, Strenx® performance steel enables the production of lighter and higher-strength equipment.
The facility will combine these advanced steels with local processing capabilities to offer manufacturers ready kits and customized components. In this way, it is aimed to shorten production times and increase efficiency. The service center will provide solutions particularly for areas such as dump trucks, tipping trailers, and lifting equipment.
Located in an industrial park close to the Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Thane regions, the facility is situated on an area of 100,000 square meters and has a steel plate storage capacity of over 10,000 tonnes.
With this investment, the company aims to provide stronger support to India’s rapidly growing transport and infrastructure sectors. Subodh Shinde stated that the new center is designed to support customers, especially with ready kits for dump trucks and lifting equipment, and expressed that high-quality steel will be combined with precision processing and technical expertise.
On the other hand, SSAB emphasized that Hardox® and Strenx® products in India should only be supplied through authorized channels. The company stated that sales are carried out through authorized distributors and Hardox® Wear Parts Centers in order to guarantee the authenticity and performance of the products.
