Spanish steelmaker Megasa negatively impacted by energy costs

It was noted that in the January-July period of 2022, Spain's crude steel production decreased by about 14 percent year-on-year to 7.3 million tons.

Steel producers in Europe are negatively affected by energy costs. Spanish steelmaker Megasa adjusts the schedules of its production activities in Spain and Portugal to periods when energy costs are favorable. Temporarily stopping production on days when energy costs are very high, Megasa also stops its production activities during night shifts.
