The restrictions imposed by the South African Department of Trade, Industry and Competition in November 2022 were renewed in December 2023. In this restriction, it was decided to extend the ongoing restrictions on the export of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, scrap, scrap from the remelting of iron or steel ingots, copper waste for up to 6 months.
