Significant management changes have taken place at Erdemir, one of Turkey's leading flat steel producers operating within the Oyak Mining and Metallurgy Group, and at İsdemir, a major player in the long products segment. According to the official statement;
Şaban Yazıcı has been appointed as the new General Manager of Erdemir. A graduate of Middle East Technical University (METU) in Mechanical Engineering (1987), Yazıcı completed his first master’s degree in the same department in 1990, followed by a second master’s degree in Finance and Management from METU in 1991. Between 2012 and 2019, he served as Plant Manager at Tosçelik A.Ş., and from 2019 to 2024, he held the position of General Manager of Projects and Operations at Tosyalı Demir Çelik A.Ş.
With his extensive experience in the steel industry, Yazıcı is expected to focus on enhancing the company’s operational efficiency and strengthening its sustainable growth strategies. His appointment is being closely followed both within Erdemir’s internal structure and across the Turkish steel sector.
At İsdemir, Ayhan Akın has been appointed as General Manager, succeeding Salih Cem Oral. Ayhan Akın graduated from Gazi University with a degree in Economics in 1992. He served as Steel Production Group President at Tosyalı Holding between 2015 and 2016, and later as General Manager of Öztrans Grup Lojistik A.Ş. from 2016 to 2023.
