Ilsenburger Grobblech GMBH, a subsidiary of Salzgitter AG, has decided to collaborate with GRI Renewable Industries, a leading wind turbine manufacturer, to develop steel products with low carbon emissions applied to wind towers. Green steel will be produced and supplied from the end of 2025.
Besides, the two companies planned to further cooperate in the development of steel grades.
Salzgitter AG has recently sought to switch from high carbon emission blast furnaces to hydrogen and green electricity to reduce carbon emissions in steelmaking.
