Russia's NLMK recently announced the suspension of the basic oxygen furnace (BOF) No. 2 at its Lipetsk plant.
NLMK stated that immediately after the explosion on 9 August, the furnace was undergoing preliminary repairs. It was determined that it needed to be repaired in depth. Because of this, the operation of the furnace had to be suspended. The facility is expected to be operational again on August 21-23.
The Lipetsk plant is NLMK's main product of flat steel.
