The exports increased by the same amount in monetary terms and reached 1.34 billion dollars.
In 2022, the peak of steel semi-finished goods deliveries from Russia to China was in July-October (from 252,000 to 464,000 tons per month). According to statistical data, deliveries in November and December were almost zero.
Supply to Asia does not fully compensate for the lost volumes in Europe, but the structure of exports is shifting in favor of the supply of semi-finished products.
Making a statement on the subject, Russia said, "China's domestic steel production has continued to decline since mid-2021. Therefore, China has become more interested in importing steel semi-finished products."
