According to the World Steel Association, Romania ranked first in Turkey's welded pipe exports in the first half of 2023.

According to World Steel Association data, Romania became the leader in Turkey's steel tube export market in the first half of 2023. According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey's total welded tube exports in June 2023 reached 201,678 tonnes, marking a significant 38.0% m-o-m increase. However, compared to the same period in 2022, there was an 11.0% y-o-y decrease.

From January to June 2023, Turkey's exports of welded tubes amounted to 924,204 tonnes, representing a 12.0% decrease, while the total value of these exports decreased by 23.2% to reach $940.49 billion compared to the same period in the previous year.

During this specified period, Romania stood as Turkey's largest welded tube export destination, importing 143,656 tonnes. Morocco secured the second position among Arab countries, importing 124,614 tonnes of welded tubes from Turkey, followed closely by the United Kingdom in third place with 75,204 tonnes.
