Rio Tinto and the Government of Madagascar have agreed on future financial arrangements for QIT Madagascar Minerals (QMM) and renewed their partnership to ensure the sustainable operation of the mine.
The agreement was confirmed by the High Constitutional Court of Madagascar and signed on August 22, 2023. The agreement will enhance Madagascar's benefits, support the QMM mine's sustainable development, and provide more certainty for Rio Tinto's future development.
