Rebar and wire rod prices flat in Poland

Local rebar and wire rod prices in Poland have been largely unchanged over the past seven days, trading limited due to seasonality and persistently weak construction demand.

Rebar and wire rod prices flat in Poland

Rebar offers from the three local producers were broadly stable on a weekly basis in the range of PLN 2,680-2,700 ($652-657) per tonne CPT (around PLN 2,650-2,680 per tonne EXW).

Rare deals in the range of 2,630-2,650 zloty per ton ex-works were reported during the week. Market sources said that factories in the region were able to offer rebar from stocks with quick shipments.

The local rebar price assessment ex-Poland stood at PLN 2,630-2,650 per tonne on Friday, up by PLN 30 per tonne from PLN 2,600-2,650 per tonne seven days ago.

The wire rod market in Poland has also been very quiet recently due to both seasonality and weak end-user demand.

The weekly price assessment for steel wire rod (drawing grade) for Polish delivery was at 2,750-2,800 zloty per tonne on Friday, unchanged since July 7.

According to sources, a Ukrainian supplier is offering wire rod at €610-615 ($663-669) per tonne from stocks.
