In the last month of the year, rebar and scrap prices ended 2023 on an upward path.
January 2023 rebar price was $717, down 13.54% from $717 in January 2023 to $620 at the end of the year. Following a downward fluctuation throughout the year, rebar prices followed a downward trend on a general basis. Compared to November, rebar experienced an increase of 5.08%.
Scrap prices increased by 6.96% in January-December period
In January, scrap prices were $388, rising by 6.96% in December. The scrap price, which was $385 in November, increased by 7.79% to $415 in December.
March saw the peak!
Annual peak in rebar prices was $735 in March, while the lowest price was $570 in October. The annual peak in scrap prices was $465 in March, while the lowest price was $346 in July.
