Price resistance broken in Turkish flat steel market as downward trend strengthens | July 27, 2026
Downward price pressure remained clearly evident in the Turkish flat steel market during the second week of July. Declining imported scrap prices, weak domestic demand, and export pressure stemming from quota restrictions in the European market prompted producers to revise their prices downward. Producers, who had been trying to maintain hot rolled coil (HRC) prices toward the end of June, have now lost their pricing resistance and started concluding sales at lower levels following the latest transactions.
