President Erdogan announced that "The election will be on May 14"

President and AK Parti Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdogan speaks during his party's Parliamentary Group meeting. Criticizing the opposition in his speech, the President said "I hope this nation will do what is necessary on May 14." Also, he declared that the election date is May 14.

"According to the latest determinations, there are 583 thousand 628 independent sections in 203 thousand 958 buildings that were destroyed in the earthquake, will be demolished immediately and severely damaged. 98 Percent of these are buildings built before 2000. Only our number of buildings in a ruined state is 31 thousand, our number of independent departments is over 89 thousand.

We have started debris removal activities. We mainly supported the temporary housing areas with tents first, then containers, furnished them and started transporting our citizens. We are making temporary commercial space for the continuation of trade in city centers. We are planning to build 468 thousand households consisting of 392 thousand 350 houses and 75 thousand village houses in the earthquake zone... We are building temporary commercial areas for the continuation of trade in our city centers."
