Korea-based company POSCO signed the contract to supply green steel products to LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics.
The contract will cover the Greenate brand products, for which POSCO has specifically registered green steel, using hydrogen metallurgy technologies for its production. It is stated that the increase in the steel supply of the Greenate brand is in line with POSCO's global plan for decarbonisation.
POSCO launched the products of the Greenate brand in June 2023. LG Electronics found the experiment successful by purchasing the first 200 tons and then increased its purchases.
Later, Samsung Electronics also showed interest in the supply of "green steel". The company in question uses Greenate branded products to manufacture household appliances and their components.
