POSCO Holdings continues strong position in global steel market in 2025

According to the 2025 list of the world’s largest steel producers published by the World Steel Association, the production performance and global ranking of South Korea-based steel giant Posco Holdings have been clearly outlined. The official list presents the annual crude steel production volumes of globally operating producers as well as their positions in the global ranking.

POSCO Holdings continues strong position in global steel market in 2025

Based on the data, Posco Holdings managed to maintain its position in the global ranking with its crude steel production in 2025. The company, which ranked 8th worldwide in the previous year, continued to hold the same position in 2025, remaining one of the key players in the global steel industry.

The published figures show that Posco Holdings’ crude steel production, which stood at 37.79 million tons in 2024, decreased slightly by 1.1% in 2025 to 37.36 million tons. Despite this minor change in production volume, the company successfully preserved its market share and competitiveness on a global scale.

The list published by the World Steel Association also reflects macroeconomic fluctuations observed in the Far Eastern steel market and global trade. In particular, the slowdown in global industrial demand and volatility in raw material costs were stated to have had a periodical impact on the company’s production planning.
