Peel Ports Group has announced the expansion of its steel and metal terminal in Liverpool in response to increased demand. The investment comes after September, the busiest month for steel in over two years. Employees at the port and Birkenhead Quays handled more than 75,000 tons.
The first phase of the newly created storage area, covering 8,000 square meters, is already in use. The construction of the second phase, an additional 12,000 square meters of storage space, is ongoing and is scheduled to be completed in December.
