Pakistan scrap metal imports decreased

Pakistan's scrap metal imports stood at 86,982 tonnes in April 2023, down 36.2% m-o-m and 72.3% y-o-y from March, according to data released by the government.

The value of imports this month was $50.84 million, down 34.5 per cent from the previous month and 71.4 per cent from a year earlier.

Meanwhile, iron and steel imports to Pakistan amounted to 116,059 tonnes in April, down 47% y-o-y. The value of Pakistan's iron and steel imports in the reporting month was $92.12 million, down 51.7 per cent y-o-y and 22.8 per cent m-o-m.
